Marble Arch Caves

Marble Arch Caves in Co. Fermanagh is one of the best showcaves in Europe. I’d highly recommend a visit! As part of the visitor experience, we created this short VR film, which visitors to the caves can experience in a new VR room at the visitor centre. I spent several days in the caves during the production and I’m still keen to go back at the next opportunity. It’s an awe-inspiring place, and even more so, if you have the good-fortune to experience it as I did – with no other visitors and access to areas seldom seen by man. This job combined lots of things that I love and allowed me to work as an art director, director, DOP and editor in 360 VR. The finished film is a three and a half-minute tour through some of the most spectacular locations in the caves. It is 8k resolution with full spatial audio, optimised for the Oculus Quest 2 headsets we installed as part of the project.

Teaser video for the VR experience.
You can see the 360 VR film by scanning the QR code or clicking on the image above – make sure to set the resolution to 8K and for the full experience, open this link in YouTube VR while wearing a VR headset and headphones.
A little behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot!
