In the past ten days or so, the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama have had their annual music competitions. My kids have been practising intensely and have made us extremely proud. Anya was highly commended in the under 12’s Piano category, Toby was highly commended for under 15’s Classical Guitar, and Leila took first prize in the under 15’s Orchestral Repertoire! It’s only fair to mention that our youngest, Naoise is also a very promising musician and she did very well in the under 10’s Violin category.

It’s been nice, waking up to these pieces every morning for the last few weeks. After the Feis Ceoil next week, it’ll be time to hear some new music sprouting up around the house!
