Parklife

I wandered up to the top of Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre car park on Saturday afternoon, to see what I could see. I had nowhere better to be, so decided to stick around for an hour or so to catch the sundown. It was beautiful, and a little surreal. Although I didn’t record many people…

Slackers

I happened upon these guys in Merrion Square on Saturday. As far as I know (which isn’t very far), Slackline walking is even harder than Tightrope walking, which itself, is very hard indeed. These guys were very good at not falling off their lines and they had a lot of fun, floating above Merrion Square…

Costa deLouth

Some shots taken while on holidays in Port Oriel, August 2016. It’s incredible how quickly the weather pivots – it now feels like a proper autumn, and these balmy evenings are long gone.

East of Eden

Can’t complain about the weather. Really. It’s been pretty rainy these past few days, but it’s warm rain, so that’s not so bad. We have had some gorgeous days and nights this summer so far. Here’s a few shots I took a few weeks back (may 26th). In the summer, you have to be working pretty…

Grand stretch in the evenings

Yesterday started out snowing. Most of the afternoon, it pounded down hailstones, and then, the evening turned out like this. What can I say? It’s Ireland. I’d planned to go shoot some time-lapse clips for a video we’re doing, so I had to hang about in work till nearly 9pm before it was time to go…

Trinity after hours

Passing through Trinity college last night around 6.30pm, I got a few nice shots. There’s a fair bit of light in the sky over the city and the longish exposures give a nice smudgy effect to the clouds as well as helping to make passing people invisible.

Early bus

The forecast has been promising snow this week, but it hasn’t yet materialised in my part of the world. I’ve left the bike in the garage and taken the bus and dart to work instead. Each morning I get up, look out the window and see that it’d probably be fine on the bike, but…

The em, spire strikes back

Some of you may have heard by now, there’s a new film out called ‘Star Wars’. 😉 It may not be perfect, but I really enjoyed it, and I can’t remember another film that everyone in my family enjoyed as much. To celebrate the launch, the Spire on O’Connell Street in Dublin has been lit…

Right place, right time

Today’s started well. It may not keep it up, but it was pretty fab out there this morning and I was lucky enough to have time for a walk on Sandymount beach. According to my phone, it’s 13 degrees at the moment, and it definitely feels more summery than wintery. Carpe diem.

Great South Wall

I’m not getting many opportunities at the moment to get out and take photos, but I have managed to pop down a couple of times to the South Wall, cos it’s near work and on my way. There a small, but nice little beach along the road to the wall, and it’s a nice walk…

Letting the traffic go by

Here’s a few shots taken on Sandymount beach back in early November. With rush-hour in full effect on the coast road, I waited it out on the beach.

Origin Green – Cardboard : Bord Bia

At this year’s Expo world fair in Milan the theme was “feeding the planet, energy for life”. Ireland’s Pavilion celebrated Origin Green, Ireland’s world-leading sustainable food movement. We helped create all kinds of interesting material, including this simple, cost-effective and unputdownable Google Cardboard piece, which transported thousands of users from the parched earth of Milan…

Just your average Irish day

Here’s how half an hour in Stephen’s Green in Dublin looked today. Summer, autumn, winter. Probably a touch of spring in there too.

Peace and quiet in the city centre

I had half an hour to kill in Stephen’s Green on saturday. It was a beautiful day and, as you’d expect, the green was jammed full of people hanging out and strolling about. I just about had time to take a few long exposure shots, and a quick timelapse. Next time, I think I’ll spend…

If you go down to the woods today…

… it probably won’t look like this. 😉 Here’s a couple of Infrared shot taken today in the woods near Beaulieu House in County Louth. And here’s the same woods in normal light.
