Marble Arch Caves in Co. Fermanagh is one of the best showcaves in Europe. I’d highly recommend a visit! As part of the visitor experience, we created this short VR film, which visitors to the caves can experience in a new VR room at the visitor centre. I spent several days in the caves during the production and I’m still keen to go back at the next opportunity. It’s an awe-inspiring place, and even more so, if you have the good-fortune to experience it as I did – with no other visitors and access to areas seldom seen by man. This job combined lots of things that I love and allowed me to work as an art director, director, DOP and editor in 360 VR. The finished film is a three and a half-minute tour through some of the most spectacular locations in the caves. It is 8k resolution with full spatial audio, optimised for the Oculus Quest 2 headsets we installed as part of the project.
