Rome – James Carr

We went to Rome at the start of September 2022. It was still pretty much in peak tourist season and the weather was reaching close to 35 degrees, especially on the day we took an express train down to visit Pompeii. The crowds inside the Vatican made it feel like 45 degrees. We always enjoy our trips to Italy and this was as good as any. Amazing, colourful, vibrant city with a million things to see and do. Simply standing there next to thousands of years of history is good enough, without even having to do anything. In future though, i think I’ll haul less camera gear around when I go somewhere as hot as this – sweaty betty!
